Troy, MI based Hotel Investment Services, Inc. Celebrates with Honored Team Members

Mar. 14, 2019 — Each year CHECK IN MICHIGAN hosts an awards ceremony during the annual Pure Michigan Governor’s Conference on Tourism that recognizes and celebrates hospitality
professionals across the state. Nominations are submitted from every region and carefully
reviewed by a selection committee. This year HIS’ Paul C. Wegert, CHA, Managing Director/HIS
Area Manager at the HIS managed Inn at St. John’s, received the RD Musser Hotelier of the
Year award at the 2019 Pure Michigan Governor's Conference on Tourism. Wegert was
recognized at the Stars of the Industry dinner on March 6, 2019 at the Grand Traverse Resort and
The RD Musser Hotelier of the Year award is presented annually to the Michigan hotelier who is
"a visionary owner or general manager who has maintained the highest standard of inn-keeping
over the expanse of their career.” The award recognizes “an innovator who has continually sought
to surpass expectations by mentoring rising associate stars and developing new practices which
positively impact guest experience." HIS is so thrilled that Paul has been honored in this way.
Mary Beth Miller has also been awarded Sales & Marketing Star of the Year. Mary Beth has
twenty years of experience in hospitality sales and has demonstrated the ability to develop a
vision, achieve consensus and deliver results in a wide variety of settings. She has a track record
of successes and has proven as such as HIS’ Area Sales Manager for the Holiday Inn Express &
Suites Plymouth, MI, Staybridge Suites Novi, MI, and the Fairfield Inn & Suites Livonia, MI. In
2018, she led our team to achieve incredible success. She took the initiative to build relationships
and negotiate sales contracts that set up our properties for long-term sustainability and growth.
Mary Beth works as a mentor to develop sales managers within Hotel Investment Services, Inc.
and is a true asset to the company. Her can-do attitude and outgoing personality make her an
absolute joy and star!
