Edward Smith was appointed to Corporate Food and Beverage Director in October 2014 after being appointed to Area Manager of Food & Beverage in August 2012.  He has been employed with Hotel Investment Services (HIS) since 2011. Edward joined HIS in November of 2011 as the Director of Food and Beverage at the Inn at St Johns in Plymouth, MI where he oversees the food and beverage operation.

He will continue to maintain his current role at the Inn at St. John’s and will oversee the Food and Beverage operation for the HIS managed Michigan properties. Edward’s talents include financial analysis, food and beverage operations, service standards, training and development of the key property Food and Beverage Managers. Edward will work closely with the property General Managers and Directors of Food and Beverage and reports to Brian Barton, COO of HIS.

Edward joined HIS from the Swissotel in Chicago, IL where he managed the Food and Beverage Operation and opened a 45,000 square foot conference centre. He has a tenured career with Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Hilton Hotels and Resorts holding the positions of Director of Food and Beverage and Director of Catering/Convention Services.
